The Sword in the Mud: A Visual of Hardship

You were never forgotten. Just forged.

This image was created to capture a sacred, quiet moment in the life of Elijah. Not the prophet calling down fire from heaven, but the man who sat under a tree and said, “I’ve had enough, Lord.”

The scene on the left shows him slumped beneath the fig tree, sandals worn, posture collapsed inward. His face is unseen, because this moment wasn’t about what he could do for God. It was about what God was doing for him.

As a designer, I wanted the composition to reflect that stillness.
The blurred, open space on the right creates room, not just for text, but for the viewer’s own quiet reflection. The transition from Elijah’s exhaustion into the promise of God’s words is meant to feel almost like a breath, a whisper of motion from despair into hope.

The text simply says:

“When God says, Get Up” — not as a demand, but as a divine reassurance:
“I see you. I’m not done. And you don’t have to stay where you are.”

This piece is not about boldness or performance.
It is about the gentle call to rise, even if all you can do is take the next breath.
And like Elijah, that is often where the real journey begins again.
